Introducing Four New PIP Consultants

PIP is pleased to announce partnerships with four new consultants who offer our clients senior policy expertise in Brazil and Ethiopia, strengthen existing expertise in spectrum and develop new offerings on data protection, privacy and cyber security.

Amadeu Castro joins the PIP LATAM team led by Sebastian Cabello as Senior Advisor in Brazil, offering senior level connectivity expertise and impact in Brazil. He has held influential roles at the Brazilian regulator Anatel, the Ministry of Communication (MoC), Acel (the national cellular operators association) and, most recently, at the GSMA where he was Director for Brazil.

Pasquale Cataldi joins as Associate Director, strengthening PIP’s expertise and reach on spectrum management and connectivity policy, specifically supporting the objective of many of our clients to ensure the availability and efficient use of spectrum. In his previous role as VP Spectrum Management at Nominet he led the research and commercialisation of a cloud based spectrum management platform that included  the TV white spaces databases operating commercially in the UK and the USA. He also supported various connectivity trials around the world.

Joining the PIP Africa Team, led by Mortimer Hope, are Juliet Maina as Senior Policy Advisor, Data Protection and Cyber Security and Yohannes Abreham as Senior Advisor, Ethiopia.

Juliet is a lawyer specialising in ICT and regulatory issues. Based in Nairobi, Kenya, she is developing PIP’s client offering on issues including data protection, privacy and cyber security and supporting client work across the region.  She has previously worked at the ICT regulator in Kenya, at Pygma Consulting, an ICT Consulting firm in South Africa and at the GSMA where she worked in the Mobile Money team as part of the Mobile for Development.

With over fifteen years experience in technology management and policy gained in the US and Ethiopia, Yohannes Abreham offers PIP clients senior level technology policy expertise in Ethiopia. He has advocated for the growth of ICT in Ethiopia, using expertise gained from his work in the US and Canada.

We welcome all new consultants to the PIP team, they are all great people to be working with and are already making a significant impact in partnership with our clients.
