I am very pleased to announce that PIP has strengthened its expertise and advocacy support for our global clients with interests across Latin America with new associates joining the PIP platform. I set up PIP with the aim of bringing together the right mix of consultants who have the seniority, individual networks and deep expertise to deliver policy impact and who promote dialogue between different groups. I’m happy to say that Sebastian Cabello and Catalina Diaz-Granados offer just that.
Sebastian is a recognised Latin American industry leader, who has shaped regional discussions in all matters related to mobile and broadband expansion, the use of spectrum, infrastructure development, taxation, security and innovation. He was a Member of the National Committee on Spectrum of Colombia and the Latin American Internet for All Advisory Committee of the World Economic Forum.
Formerly Head of LATAM at the GSMA, Sebastián has also worked as Market Research Director at TechPolis and as a consultant on international trade issues for the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Argentina and the Organisation of American States (OAS).
Catalina, an economist by training, worked for 15 years at the Colombian telecommunications regulator, where she was responsible for the planning and execution of the regulatory agenda in areas including competition promotion and consumer protection, amongst others. Since moving to Argentina she has worked as an independent consultant focused on ICT regulation and public policy.
I welcome both to the PIP team and look forward to working with them on a number of exciting new projects.
